Seminar #1 - 6pm to 7:45pm: All about VALS

Mastering the VALS, its rhythmical and technical elements – 4 days of 105 minutes class

Use this exceptional opportunity to develop your VALS skills through our four-day semi-private seminar of intensive and closely related classes. Max six couples!

Here we will continuously develop the same themes over time, to ensure progression through deep and concentrated work under professional supervision.

The work will focus on:

- Developing for each participant the skill of using the 3 beats of the vals in a walking sequence while maintaining the flow of the dance

- Practicing a giro sequence, to make it flowing and rhythmical

- Practicing a sequence involving alterations and colgadas to create a vals mood.

The sequences are chosen in order to develop special skills to make the way to dance Vals differently from the way to dance tango. The first aim is to be able to use the 3 beats of the waltz as well as to keep the dance dynamic and continuous… to match with the vals feeling!

With each of these 3 different vals basics, we will focus on both the technical and rhythmical aspect of the dance.

Each day we will develop the following time schedule:

- 15 minutes of deep individual work on a walk technique, using the 3 beats of the vals while maintaining the flow of the walk

- 45 minutes of deep couple work (leader + follower) on a mix involving a walk, a giro, alterations and colgadas

- 45 minutes on the rhythmical aspect of the sequence and its embrace and posture adjustments

Seminar #2 - 8pm to 9:45pm: All about MILONGA

Mastering the MILONGA, its rhythmical and technical elements – 4 days of 105 minutes class

Use this exceptional opportunity to develop your MILONGA skills through our four-day semi-private seminar of intensive and closely related classes. Max six couples!

Victoria and Jean Sébastien offer a four-day seminar aimed at developing your MILONGA. Here we will continuously develop the same themes over time, to ensure progression through deep and concentrated work under professional supervision.

The work will focus on:

- Developing for each participant his/her personal way to walk when dancing a milonga,

- Practicing a traspie fundamental sequence using forward, side and backward steps that can either make the couple turning or make the couple remaining at the same place or make the coupe moving on a strait line.

- Practicing a very delicate and tasty giro sequence, alternating side steps with backward or forward steps and traspie.

The sequences are chosen in order to reinforce the dialogue between the leader and follower by creating a direct connection to fast shifts of the weight through the centre of the body.

With each of these 3 different milonga basics, we will focus on both technical and rhythmical aspect of the dance.

Each day we will develop the following time schedule:

- 15 minutes of deep individual work on walk technique and rhythmical elements

- 45 minutes of deep couple work (leader + follower) on one of the 3 sequences

- 45 minutes on the rhythmical aspect of the sequence and its embrace and posture adjustments
